Philosophy has been part of Islamic civilization since its early days, with debates over metaphysics shaping creedal disputes. Influenced by Greek thought, Muslim scholars engaged with philosophy, including figures like Ibn Sina and al-Ghazali. While al-Ghazali critiqued philosophers, he acknowledged their insights and incorporated logic into jurisprudence. However, philosophy declined in the Sunni world, and later scholars like Ibn Rushd faced rejection. Fakhr al-Din al-Razi blended philosophy and religion in his Qur'anic commentary. Ibn Khaldun identified the stagnation of philosophy and the decline of the intellectual tradition.
