About this video

We must not be deceived into believing that our lives are sealed fates written by our childhoods. Yes, trauma leaves its mark. Yes, much is shaped in those early years. But to imagine that our present is nothing more than an echo of our past is to deny the power Allah gave us — the power to choose, to act, to change. Victimhood may feel safe. It relieves us of responsibility. But it is a lie. A soul that surrenders to its past has ceased to live. Healing begins the moment we stop asking why did this happen to me and start asking what am I now going to do with it. You are not what happened to you. You are what you do next.
