About this episode
In this episode we look at the quiet but decisive moment when Islam moved from spiritual to political. Seventy-two leaders from Yathrib (Medina) met the Prophet (saw) in the darkness of Mina and pledged not only belief in one God, but full protection and obedience—promising to defend him as they would their own families. In return, he bound himself to them: “You are of me, and I am of you.” We trace how this pledge transformed scattered believers into muhajirun and ansar, and turned Medina from a divided oasis into the future city of the Prophet.
