About this episode
Unlock the intricacies of Jain Epistemology in this enlightening lecture. Dive into the profound world of knowledge and perception according to Jain philosophy. Explore their unique theories of how we come to understand reality, the role of perception, and the concept of multiple viewpoints. Gain insights into a lesser-known but deeply influential branch of Indian Philosophy that continues to provoke thought and contemplation.
This is a series of lessons derived from Satischandra Chatterjee and Dhirendramohan Dutta's "An Introduction to Indian Philosophy". What you would encounter is a reading, commentary and explanation of the text. The series is done primarily catering to Muslim audiences, however it is going to be of great use to anyone interested in Indian Philosophy.
The book (and this series) follows closely with the UPSC syllabus as prescribed for Philosophy Optional Paper 1 and hence can be of great use to any students trying to develop an understanding for the same. I would however recommend such students to rely on this series only when the entire series is uploaded, for we would not be following any particular schedule for these uploads, though the recordings are complete and are in post production phase.
